When studying language as a whole, you must take a look into how each letter can change sounds based on its location in a word. This project highlights a few differences in pronunciation between Italian and Spanish.
Intro to Linguistics - LANG 3000
In my Italian International Business class, we spent the semester preparing for a job interview to be performed in Italian. We were required to make resumes, cover letters, and even short pieces about ourselves (parlami di te). This not only helped to expand our Italian speaking skills, it also helped to prepare us for future interviews we will have when searching for a long term career.
Culture and Literature Samples
In Italian Pop Music, we were asked to choose a song that had a historical meaning. I chose the song Fiori di Chernobyl by Mr. Rain, an Italian rap artist. This paper covers the historical context of the Chernobyl Disaster as well as the hidden message behind his lyrics.
In Italian Film, we reviewed many Italian films. One of our assignments was to choose any film and analyze it. Il Posto, a film directed by Ermanno Olmi that highlights the unfortunate realities that come with a job for a once eager young man.
